Kefalonia deshi 2012 is now available to make a provisional booking for any stay from one week up to the full period from May 5th to June 30th.
Normally students will be living/training at the dojo over the whole two months, so those who wish can come at anytime if the main deshi week is inconvenient on price or other time table of commitments. Daily training is throughout the whole period. We try to keep to the same format as Iwama, but we also include other disciplines.
First main deshi will NOW run from June 2nd to 9th

Sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused, but the Russian students could not make it 'in numbers' for the earlier dates. The up side is the temperature will be hotter for the sun worshipers.
New this year, we are offering: An overflow second week full time table deshi as offered above from June 16th to 23rd

So do not wait for others contact me now with any questions you may have. Tony Sensei
Thomson fly from most airports in the UK on different days of the week and EasyJet are flying from Gatwick on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Check them out to see who is the lowest on price. You may come a day or two earlier and leave the same if it helps to get the best price. The deshi is continuos, so no training time is lost whatever day you arrive and leave.
What do you get out of this possible life changing experience.
Each day we start at 7am with a soft and gentle form of Yoga to stretch the body slowly helping to understand how we can get more from our bodies leading to long term health benefits that can be carried on once you return home. Then a time is spent on different forms of Meditation that will be enjoyable and enlightening on how to overcome our busy mind taking us to the point of understanding what deep inner peace can provide now and in the future if development and study is continued, lastly we will be looking at the weapons of Aikido outside the Dojo taking us up to breakfast. Normally this covers two two and half hours. Then breakfast.
After breakfast light duties are carried out by all deshi by helping Sensei, followed by lunch. After lunch a rest period/beach or relaxing.
Early evening deshi will train themselves or with one of the top teachers available. 1900. Sensei will take his class. Ending the day with meditation or relaxation. This format is carried out each day except Sundays when it is a complete day off and will be at deshi's choice.
The first long term deshi held in 2011 was so successful that we have decided to run this very successful deshi as before. We do not ask you to arrive on any special day or leave; this will be up to you.
The cost of the deshi includes all board, training, bedding. In the price for the main weeks deshi it will also include, main meals at lunch times on most days. Some days will be at deshi's own costs, plus breakfast when training at the beach, is at the deshi's own cost.
Cost for any one weeks stay will only cost £180, two weeks @ £170 per week and any stay more than two weeks will be @ £160 per week. THE MAIN DESHI WEEK COST IS £390
Those who have been many times can give you information on how much overall you will need to allow for in costs, but this normally depends on how you wish to live while at the Dojo.
A £50 none returnable deposit is required from you, as places are limited. At least one months notice is required before deshi if cancellation is confirmed, if not Sensei will ask you to pay the full amount due to others loosing out on having this wonderful opportunity to train. Sadly this has happened in the past and this is why we must now be strict with those who do not follow the Aikido true path of being fully committed to honesty.
The main deshi week will as normal include food, accommodation and training. Flights are extra but collection and return to and from the airport in Kefalonia for the deshi will be taken care of by Sensei
